    Environmental Systems Engineering (EVSE)

    The Environmental Systems Engineering Program (EVSE) illustrates and applies concepts of systems engineering to environmental issues related to water supplies, air pollution, transport, industrial development and waste management.

    It offers courses to undergraduates as well as graduates. The students receive a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Environmental Systems Engineering and Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)–Project Focus or Co-op; Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.)–Thesis and PhD program. Students in Co-operative Education graduate with a B.A.Sc. (Co-op), while students in the Internship Program graduate with a B.A.Sc. (Internship) in Environmental Systems Engineering.

    Petroleum Systems Engineering (PSE)

    The Petroleum Systems Engineering (PSE) teaches the analysis, development and management of technologies used in reserve assessment and production and processing of oil and gas. Students graduate with Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.); B.A.Sc. (Co-op) and B.A.Sc. (Internship) in Petroleum Systems Engineering.

    Master of Engineering (M.Eng) – Project focus or co-op; Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) – Thesis-based and Doctoral (Ph.D) program are available to students for higher studies.     Process Systems Engineering (PSEng) - Graduate Only

    PSEng is a groundbreaking process engineering graduate programme. The curriculum trains students in the process and energy industries for a career. It offers Master of Applied Science (Thesis-based) and Master of Engineering (Project or Co-op) to its students. Here the students are prepared to look at the whole process from point A (a raw material) to point Z (the desired end product). It does not actually deal with the processing of the raw base material, although acquisition awareness is a part of the teaching and research strategy of the U of R's programs.

    Pure Sciences

    1. The Biology Department offers quality undergraduate teaching, graduate and postdoctoral fellow mentorship training. At the undergraduate level, concentrations in Cellular and Molecular Biology; and Ecology and Environmental Biology are available. In the fields of ecology and evolution, cell and molecular biology as well as organismal physiology and biochemistry, it offers both masters and doctoral degrees. Thesis-based graduate programs include both coursework and research, with the latter given more  importance. The Department of Biology is home to several of the top scientists in ecological environmental and cellular and molecular biology, in addition to its modern facilities for advanced molecular and environmental research.

    2. The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry offers Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science Honours, thesis-based MSc and PhD degrees in chemistry and biochemistry. It includes ongoing research at Regina University in: Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics.

    3. Computer Science Department offers computing information technology and software design and application-related research programs. Students may study full-time or part-time, earning a Certificate in Computer Science or B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. degrees. The accredited undergraduate degree programs in Computer Science and Software Development are complemented with Co-operative Education programs.

    4. The Department of Economics offers a major and honors major in economics, a major in economics and society, several joint majors and honors majors, a BSc major and BSc honors major in economics and a joint BSc in statistics and economics. The department also offers a certificate and minor in economics.

    5. The Geography Department involves studying both the human and physical environmental aspects such as settlement, population, economy, topography, climate, vegetation, and water. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts program through the Faculty of Arts, as well as a Bachelor of Science.

    6. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has three main areas of focus: Mathematics, Statistics, and Actuarial Science. These three disciplines form the basis of interdisciplinary programs such as Biology and Statistics, Economics and Statistics, and Mathematics and Mathematics Education. The department also has a strong graduate program and offers several bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and statistics.

    7. The Department of Physics at the University of Regina offers programs leading to B.Sc. and B.Sc. Honours degrees in Pure and Applied/Industrial Physics and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Experimental and Theoretical Subatomic Physics. Co-operative Education programs along with local industry play an important role in its undergraduate degree programs.
    Students intending to join professional programs in other universities in the Faculty of Science can take their Pre-Professional programs. Professional programs are rarely direct admissions and often require two or more years of pre-admission undergraduate study.
