College of Engineering and Computer Science

ANU offers unique, modern degrees designed to meet the challenges of the future - preparing you for success in today’s changing world.  The various undergraduate courses offered by the college of engineering are Bachelor of Technology (Honors) and Bachelor of Technology (R&D) (Honors). 

While a Plethora of Degrees is offered in the Master’s Degree, They are:

  • list items Master of Engineering in Digital Systems and Telecommunications – It is a single two-year masters degree offered by the department to graduate students who possess a degree in Bachelor of Technology (4 years) or equivalent course. The program includes specialized courses in signal processing, engineering statistics, wireless communications, embedded systems and information theory. The course is of 96 units. 
  • list items Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering - This two-year master qualification provides students with specialized knowledge and professional engineering skills to prepare them for a career in electrical engineering. A Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0 is the minimum requirement for pursuing this degree. The Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering requires the completion of 96 units.
  • list items Master of Engineering in Mechatronics – A student who wants a career in the rapidly growing field of mechatronics, robotics and automation, computer vision and the intelligent system must pursue this degree! This two-year master’s qualification provides the students with professional engineering skills and specialized knowledge. Work Integrated Learning is an important part of the program and is delivered through the group project.  The Master of Engineering in Mechatronics requires the completion of 96 units.
  • list items Master of Engineering in Photonics – Photonics professionals work across a wide range of industries including research and development, telecommunications, sensing and remote detection and biomedical diagnostics. Hence, a Master of Engineering in Photonics is a two-year program that provides the student with specialized knowledge and professional approach in the field of optoelectronics and photonics. The Master of Engineering in Photonics requires the completion of 96 units.
  • list items Master of Technology in Renewable Energy - This two-year master qualification provides students with specialized knowledge and professional engineering skills to prepare them for a career in the rapidly-growing renewable energy industry. The program builds on ANU’s interdisciplinary research and engineering expertise to give students the skills to address complex multi-disciplinary problems while at the same time providing advanced technical knowledge in renewable energy. The program includes specialized courses in solar, wind and other renewable technologies, utility-scale systems design, grid integration and energy efficiency. Students also have the opportunity to select electives from across the University, including courses in the complementary areas of energy policy, law and economics. Work-integrated Learning is an important part of the program and is delivered through the group project. The
  • Master of Engineering in Renewable Energy requires the completion of 96 units.

    Apart from these, there are postgraduate degrees for research too. The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science offers two Higher Degree by Research (HDR) degrees: the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and the Master of Philosophy (MPhil). Both degrees involve producing high-quality original research under the close supervision of a panel of world-class academic staff. HDR students produce a thesis that describes their research, which is assessed by external examiners at the end of the program.

    In addition, the college also provides financial assistance to HDR students.

    ANU College of Business and Economics

    The college fosters partnership with business, government and not-for-profit organizations, to arrive at real-world impacts. The focus is on giving rise to leaders who transform society, business, and economies. The ANU College of Business and Economics has the smallest class sizes and its graduates happen to be the most employable.

    The enrolled students have access to a number of facilities such as the Venture Lab, connect hub, Behavioral Lab, College Bookable Rooms, Honors Lab, One-button studio, etc.The ANU College of Business and Economics provides the students with bachelor’s, master and doctorate degrees.

    ANU College of Science and ANU College of Health and Medicine 

    The objective of the ANU College of Science and Health and Medicine is to offer a quality study environment to the students and staff which will help them to grow and learn. ANU has given rise to  Nobel Laureates such as Professor Brian Schmidt, 2011 Nobel laureate, Professor Peter Doherty, 1996 Nobel laureate, Professor Rolf Zinkernagel, 1996 Nobel laureate, Professor John Eccles, 1963 Nobel laureate, Lord Howard Florey, 1945 Nobel laureate.     1. ANU College of Law

    ANU College of Law is ranked 15th in the world for the study of Law according to QS World rankings 2019/20. Combining the global outlook with a local focus, the ANU College of Law enjoys a high reputation for excellence in research; legal education and community outreach and remains focused on its objectives. 

    The ANU College of Law provides degrees such as Bachelors in Law (honours), Master of Laws (LLM) and Juris Doctor. Across undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees, the ANU College of Law provides a unique understanding of current law and policy, with our alumni working not only as lawyers but as agents for social change, improving public policy and enhancing global diplomacy. 

    2. ANU College of Arts and Sciences 

    The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) set bars both nationally and internationally in education, research and community engagement across the fields of social sciences, humanities,  and creative arts. The researchers from the college create an environment which is conducive to debates and public policy with the help of media outreach, consultations, media outreach and their own research. The college’s disciplines are placed in rankings of above or well above world standard in the Excellence in Research Australia rankings by the Australian Research Council.
