The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health at The University of Sheffield offers a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes. This one-year degree program focuses on Medicine and Health Sciences. For international students, the tuition fees for this program are £32,350. To gain admission to the MSc program, applicants need to meet English language requirements by providing IELTS or PTE scores. The minimum graduation cutoff for admission is 55%. This course focuses on how hormones control important functions in the body. It teaches the basics of endocrinology and explains how this knowledge helps us understand diseases at different stages of life. It also shows how we can use this information to create treatments.

Students will learn about various topics such as how hormones are made, how the body keeps balance, and the problems that can arise from endocrine disorders affecting children, young people, and adults. The course includes a detailed study of diabetes, covering its symptoms, complications, and ways to manage it effectively. This helps students understand how diabetes impacts patients throughout their lives. Students will also learn about testing and developing new medicines to treat endocrine diseases.

The program is taught by skilled doctors and scientists who specialize in endocrinology and diabetes. Students will have the chance to join them in clinics and clinical meetings at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

A key part of the degree involves a six-month research project. Students will work with one of the research teams to build their lab skills and conduct their own experiments to test a hypothesis in endocrinology.

Graduation

To apply, you need at least a 2:1 degree in a relevant life science subject, such as Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Veterinary Science. A 2:2 degree (which equals 55% in India) may be accepted depending on an interview and your past achievements.
