Professional Certificate Program in UX and UI at University of California, Berkeley (UCB)

UC Berkeley Global offers a Professional Certificate Program in UX and UI through its College of Continuing Studies. This program lasts for one year and has a tuition fee of USD 22,000. To apply for this program, students must show their English language skills. The accepted tests for English proficiency are IELTS and TOEFL. Additionally, students need to have a minimum graduation GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for admission.

This program is a Postgraduate Certificate Program.

Upon finishing two semesters of coursework, you will receive a certificate in UX Design and another certificate in UI Design.

By completing extra required courses during the two semesters, you can earn a third Professional Diploma Program Certificate in UX Design and UI Design.

The UX Design Certificate Program teaches the entire user experience design process, from research and gathering requirements to integrating a product or service with modern design. You will work on hands-on projects that will help you create a portfolio to impress future employers.

In the UI Design part of the program, you will learn to create innovative experiences, organize and manage content, understand user needs, and develop social innovations. You will also work on hands-on projects to build a portfolio that stands out to hiring managers.

During the program, students will study courses such as:

• Visual Design Principles
• Diagramming and Prototyping
• User Interface Design

To apply for the UI Design Immersive, students must have completed an Introduction to UX Design course or have equivalent experience. This prerequisite can be fulfilled by taking the Introduction to UX Design online before starting the program.

Students who complete two semesters are eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT).

There is an option for an internship at a company in the San Francisco Bay Area for an additional fee of $3,000 USD.

• Understanding of the Program: Explain how this program will help you reach your academic, professional, or personal goals. Briefly describe what you know about the program's requirements and the courses you can apply for as a student. Be sure to mention the name of the program you are applying to.
• Anomalies: If there are any unusual aspects in your academic records, like a failed course, a low GPA, or a change in your major, please explain them. If your transcript is normal, you can skip this part.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should include a list of all jobs you have held, along with your duties. Also, include all degrees you have earned or courses you have attended, and any other experiences that may interest the academic review committee.
