The Masters Research course offered by the school is Master of Philosophy (Engineering and Related Technologies) which is a two-year full-time course with the flexibility of part-time. However, the maximum time limit to complete the course is 4.5 years. The course can be pursued on the campus at Townville and Cairns. This course offers students more opportunities for research and aims at enabling them to pursue a Ph.D. in the future. This is a postgraduate research degree designed for graduates from engineering and other fields of study.

Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering and Related Technologies) is a Ph.D. program offered by JCU. It is a 4-year full-time program offered at Townsville and Cairns campus. It involves a thesis that should be original and is supervised closely. It aims at contributing original solutions through research. The students require 4 EFTSL to complete the course successfully.

The maximum time limit offered to complete the course is 8.5 years. The research works are supervised by the Research Education Sub-Committee (RESC). The annual tuition fee for the course is estimated to be AUD$40,280 with additional student’s services and amenities fee.

These requests will each be evaluated individually. A bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited higher education institution must have been successfully earned by you.
