Eligibility & Documents Required for Admission

You must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with a minimum of four years of full-time study to be considered for any graduate programme. Please note that a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is the minimum GPA requirement. Bachelor's degrees in engineering (with 180 or more ECTS credits) may also be considered. Programs authorized by ABET and programmes accredited/approved by other regional accrediting agencies will be given special attention.

Graduate applicants must also have:

  • list items 65 on the PTE (Pearson Academics exam)

    Admission Process:

    Each of New York University's graduate schools has its own application portal. Students can fill out the forms online by logging into the university portal. They should have all of the necessary documentation on hand to avoid any problems when filling out the forms.

  • list items Students who want to apply must first create an application ID before filling out the Application Form.
  • list items Use your NYU net ID and password to access the application.
  • list items Choose the term for which you want to study abroad. You can choose between the Fall and Spring semesters. Students that are interested in enrolling for the entire academic year (Fall & Spring should select the Fall Semester).
  • list items Complete the application.
  • list items To gain access to your personalized Enrollment Portal, you must first receive a confirmation email. Getting access to this page will take roughly 15-30 minutes.
  • list items To be considered for academic internships and/or specialized programmes in specific places, go to the Enrollment Portal and submit optional materials. Opportunities are depending on the location of your first pick.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    If you have difficulties submitting your application, save it first and then clear your cache (go to your browser's options menu and select clear history/clear browsing data/clean cache). After that, close all of your browser windows, reopen it, and log back into your application. This will usually always allow you to submit your application.
    Three letters of recommendation from people who are familiar with your academic credentials are necessary. People who are most familiar with your previous studies, research interests, or job, including at least one instructor from the institution you previously attended, should serve as recommenders. Instructors familiar with your work in the field in which you plan to study are preferred by the NYU’s Schools.
    You should upload a transcript reflecting your academic record through your most recent term of study if you are presently finishing your baccalaureate.
