The University of Delaware is a unique private as well as a public University, which was established in 1743. It is a privately chartered university that also receives some state assistance and hence its unique status! This University is one of the three Universities in the country which have Land Grant, Space Grant, Sea Grant, and Urban Grant status. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching considers the University of Delaware as “a research university with very high research activity”. The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware offers the PSM (Professional Science Master's) Degree in Biotechnology. This is a very challenging degree and getting an admission to the program is not easy. A student must have a BA or BS degree in science or engineering disciplines. Further, applicants must have a background in Biological Science, Mathematics, Physics, General Chemistry, and Organic chemistry. GRE is a must for this course. International students must have a TOEFL score of above 550.
In addition to the science subjects pertaining to biological sciences and biotechnology, a candidate can choose either a business/industry track or a government/non-profit track to suit their employment goals.
The course includes a seven-month-long internship at a biotechnology company.

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
U.S. News & World Report ranked the chemical engineering programs of the department as 8th in the country in 2019.
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering offers a four-year program leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (B.Ch.E.).
The College of Engineering and the College of Arts and Sciences also offer a joint five-year program that leads to a Bachelor’s degree in one of the engineering majors as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department also offers three five-year B.S plus Master’s programs. The College of Engineering and the Lerner College of Business and Economics allows students who want to pursue a business degree too to acquire a BCHE/MBA degree.
In collaboration with the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, students can acquire a Chemical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering (BChE/MMSE) degree. In addition, a student can also opt for the Chemical Engineering/Particle Technology (BChe/MEPT) degree. These five-year fast-track Bachelor’s cum Master’s degrees are offered only to exceptional students who have consistently achieved high scores.
The graduate program in the Chemical Engineering Department offers a Master’s in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. The Master’s in Chemical Engineering has thesis and non-thesis options. The non – thesis program is for students with professional experience.

Civil and Environmental
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers a four-year BCE (Bachelor in Civil Engineering) degree. Exceptional students can qualify for the Honors program offered by the university. Further, another course is a collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences leading to a dual degree Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts.
Students with high scores in their undergraduate studies also have the following five-year courses to choose from - Civil Engineering (BCE/MCE) which is a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s course saving students one year; Civil Engineering/Business Administration (BCE/MBA); Civil Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering (BCE/MMSE).
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers three graduate programs of study and research leading to three degrees: Master of Civil Engineering, Master of Applied Sciences, and Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering. The Master of Civil Engineering degree is for those with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, while the Master of Applied Sciences degree is for students who do not hold an engineering undergraduate degree. Students studying for the Master in Civil Engineering (MCE) may choose either a thesis or a non-thesis option.
A dual degree- MBA & Master of Civil Engineering program is available to graduate students.
The minimum requirement for admission to a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering is a Bachelor of Science in engineering from an accredited college. Students with bachelor’s degrees and exceptional academic backgrounds may be admitted directly into the Ph.D. program.

The Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) offers three Bachelor Degree programs - BS in Computer Science, BA in Computer Science, and BS in Information Systems.
The graduate program offers a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. The M.S in Computer Science is normally completed in four semesters of full-time study. Although a thesis is optional, students are encouraged to prepare one. For a Ph.D. in Computer Science, each candidate must complete all requirements laid down by the university.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers a four-year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
The department offers a special BEE/MSECE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering) program for highly-qualified undergraduate students. This program allows the student to earn both BEE and MSECE degrees in five years of full-time study in the department.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department offers programs leading to the degree of Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Master of Science in Cybersecurity, and Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Applicants normally should have a B.S. in electrical or computer engineering to be eligible for the master’s programs. However, admission may be granted to applicants with an undergraduate degree in another engineering or a related field, such as Math, Physics, or Computer Science.
The M.S degree has two options – thesis and non-thesis. It is important to note that if one opts for the thesis option, there is a possibility of receiving department funding through a research or teaching assistantship.

Materials Science and Engineering use the principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering to develop better, safer, and more sustainable materials. The School of Engineering offers a four-year B.S in Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate program. The Materials Science and Engineering (MSEG) department offers a special five-year BS/MMSE program for exceptional undergraduate students. This program allows the student to earn a bachelor’s degree from one of several partnering departments (including Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering, and Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences) and a Master’s Degree in Materials Science.
The Master’s program has two options: thesis and non-thesis. The non-thesis degree is offered primarily to off-campus or part-time students but is also available to full-time students with permission from the graduate committee. The university also has an MSME/MBA dual degree program.
It also offers the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program. Students with exceptional records in their Bachelor’s can apply and secure an M.S en route to the Ph.D.

I used GyanDhan’s university Compare tool to check the value offered by both the universities - University of Texas at Arlington ranks better than University of Cincinnati in terms of Employment Probability and Expected Salary. This means that University of Texas has better employment opportunities and salary packages offered are also better than university of Cincinnati. Major recruiters at University of Texas have been Visa, Copart, Cerner Corporation. Annual intake for the Computer Science department is 306 whereas for University of Cincinnati, it is only 24. If compared on the basis of tuition fees, net fees - University of Texas fairs well.
