The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (also referred to as UNC Charlotte, UNCC, or simply Charlotte) is a public research university in Charlotte, North Carolina. It offers 65 Master's degrees, 139 majors in 75 programs leading to Bachelor's degrees, and 24 Doctoral degrees and has the College of Arts + Architecture, the Cato College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, the College of Health and Human Services, the Belk College of Business, the William States Lee College of Engineering, the College of Computing and Informatics, and the University College.

The University has 10 acres of outdoor gardens, a tropical plant courtyard, a flourishing greenhouse. The first CATS light rail train that pulled onto the campus connected it to the rest of the city, forever changing the landscape of UNC Charlotte’s campus.
The University Recreation Center ( UREC ), is a 148,000 sq. ft. space for student recreation and fitness. The facility features an indoor pool, multi-purpose courts, a cycling studio, an outdoor pool, group fitness studios, an elevated running/walking track, and multi-floor cardio and strength training equipment.
There is also a Belk gym and Belk Pool.
The Calisthenic Outdoor Recreation Equipment (C.O.R.E.), is another area dedicated entirely to the physical fitness of students. There is also a Northeast Rec Complex.
UNC Charlotte's J. Murrey Atkins Library has over 3.3 million volumes, including 930,000 e-books, over 400 databases, and approximately 75,000 journals, the vast majority available electronically, as well as an area for special collections. The simulation labs in the College of Health and Human Services offer a life-like experience to students. It is a recently renovated library and includes a ten-story tower.
The campus has 17 residence halls of varying capacities. Students can also choose to stay off-campus. However, the institution won’t be responsible for anything in such a scenario. The institution offers residence to a limited number of students in Pine Hall. Pine Hall is a community of apartments for independent living. One unit has four private bedrooms, a kitchen and a private washer and dryer and a bathroom. Students can also access a balcony or terrace and an added living room. There is also a common study hall and game room. UNC Charlotte also offers a wide variety of dining options in different locations across campus available in all flexibility.
Only one application is required to apply for all types of financial aid; it is commonly referred to as the “FAFSA”. Scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study employment are all considered financial aid. The institution offers Federal grants like - Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work-Study (FWS),

Civil and Environmental
The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEE) offers possibilities for disciplinary and multidisciplinary graduate education in Civil and Environmental Engineering and associated fields. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts that the employment growth for the civil and environmental engineering graduates will be 20%, nearly double the domestic average of all occupations, and four times greater than any other engineering discipline by 2022. The Department provides a Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.) with the choice of graduating with a concentration in one of the following six civil engineering fields: Structures, Geotechnical Engineering, Transport, Environmental / Water Resources Engineering, Land Development Engineering, and Energy Infrastructure. The graduate programs include Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.E.), Master of Science in Civil Engineering (M.S.C.E.), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Infrastructure and Environmental Systems (INES). The PhD programme in Civil Engineering is in the process of approval at the moment. Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (SEEM) is one of the thriving and comparatively fresh departments at UNC Charlotte's Lee College of Engineering.
