Civil and Environmental

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEE) offers possibilities for disciplinary and multidisciplinary graduate education in Civil and Environmental Engineering and associated fields. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts that the employment growth for the civil and environmental engineering graduates will be 20%, nearly double the domestic average of all occupations, and four times greater than any other engineering discipline by 2022. The Department provides a Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering (B.S.C.E.) with the choice of graduating with a concentration in one of the following six civil engineering fields: Structures, Geotechnical Engineering, Transport, Environmental / Water Resources Engineering, Land Development Engineering, and Energy Infrastructure. The graduate programs include  Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.E.), Master of Science in Civil Engineering (M.S.C.E.), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Infrastructure and Environmental Systems (INES). The PhD programme in Civil Engineering is in the process of approval at the moment. The M.S.C.E. program needs a baccalaureate in Civil and Environmental Engineering, while the M.S.E. degree provides learners who may not have a baccalaureate in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a more discipline-specific research program. Advanced training and research are used to enhance professional development and technical skills and initiate a life-long learning experience for the students.
