Eligibility Criteria

Applicants to graduate programmes must have completed at least the equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree in the United States from an institution recognised by that country's ministry of education after completing the 12th grade of secondary or high school. On the basis of a holistic review, applicants with three-year undergraduate degrees will be evaluated for admission to our master's programmes. A 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher overall grade point average is required.

One of the following can be used to meet the English proficiency requirements:

  •   TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) iBT (Internet-based test): Minimum score of 80
  •   Minimum TOEFL PBT (paper-based test) score is 550.
  •   Minimum IELTS score is 6.5
  •   Pearson Minimum score on the Academic English Test (PTE) is 67.
  •   Level 112 is completed at an ELS Language Center.
  •   Minimum score on the Duolingo English Test is 105. 

The Office of Admission and Enrolment at UT Dallas requires the following:

  • Online application and the application fees.
  • A non-refundable evaluation cost of $50.
  • Evidence of English proficiency.
  • Score on the GRE or GMAT.
  • Diplomas and/or certificates of completion of a degree programme. Scanned copies with certified English translations from the relevant academic institution or government agency.
  • All transcripts or mark sheets from college or university.
  • Recommendations letters
  • Non-English documents must be certified translated.

When your application and any supporting papers, such as transcripts, test scores, letters of recommendation, essay, and résumé, are received on or before the deadline, your application is considered complete.

  •   Complete the graduate application at UT Dallas.
  •   Application fee and $50 non-refundable international credential evaluation fee must be submitted.
  •   Upload digital pdf copies of the following documents into the online application to speed up the processing of your application:
  •   English proficiency scores from either of the following: IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or ELS 112
  •   Transcripts and degree certificates (if relevant) from all colleges/universities attended
