Western Sydney University, formerly known as the University of Western Sydney, is a multi-campus Australian university located in Sydney, Australia's Greater Western region. Although the university's origins date back to 1891, the Western Sydney Federal University first came into effect in 1989, and the other colleges banded together to create the university that we now know in 1995.
By 2001, the university began to act as a single entity instead of a federation and was created to educate a large and diverse population of the six campuses.
With campuses in Bankstown, Blacktown, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta, and Penrith, it is a provider of undergraduate, postgraduate and higher research degrees.

Western Sydney University offers a wide range of on-campus housing, and high-quality, accessible options. The university villages also allow for apartment-style living, if necessary, with single rooms and shared rooms. All the rooms are fitted with basic amenities as well as common recreation areas and kitchens.
It also includes swimming pools, a barbecue room, a student lounge, a television lounge, tennis and pool tables, and more.
All the villages on the Bankstown, Campbelltown, Hawkesbury, Nirimba, Parramatta, and Penrith campuses offer a wide range of housing options and 24-hour support. The accommodations are available for 48 weeks, a flexible time period, or for a semester.
Given below are the costs of accommodation per person / per week for 2020 depending upon the choice of the rooms and the period for which the student applies for the accommodation. Bankstown charges a fee between AUD194 and AUD355 per week, while Campbelltown charges AUD186 to AUD360 per week. The fee for Hawkesbury is between AUD186 and AUD400 per week, and Nirimba charges between AUD170 and AUD250 weekly. Parramatta has a weekly fee between AUD150 and AUD350, and Penrith charges between AUD180 and AUD365 per week. A security deposit of 4 weeks’ rent is applicable no matter where you choose to live. Homestay options are also available for as low as AUD 180, full board (all meals are provided), and all-inclusive. International students can explore their options for housing here.
Western Sydney University has a number of international student scholarships available. On the basis of academic merit, grants worth AUD7,500 and AUD5,000 and 50 percent of tuition fees are awarded. Grants and other financial assistance can also be provided to those who are interested in research.
