Industrial & System Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) offers Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. degrees. The task of the industrial engineering undergraduate program is to educate learners for leadership roles in a wide range of jobs including production, supply chain management, and logistics, health care, banking, information management, and associated disciplines. The M.S. manufacturing engineering degree program is based on a core design to provide a firm foundation for the multiple components of manufacturing and systems engineering. It specializes in General Option (Plan C), Advanced Production Systems (Plan C), Integrated Product Engineering (Plan C), Quality Engineering (Plan C) and Thesis Option (Plan A).

The M.S. degree program in engineering management is intended to develop both technical and industry skills. A novel interdisciplinary Master of Science in Data Science and Business Analytics program offered by Mike Ilitch School of Business and College of Engineering assists learners to excel in both sector and academia. The major concentrations are as follows:

  • Data Science and Business Analytics – MS Business Program - Data-Driven Business Concentration
  • Data Science and Business Analytics – MS Engineering Program – Advanced Analytics Concentration

The department also provides a Graduate Certificate in System Engineering. The certificate can be completed on-campus or online and serves as a bridge to the M.S. degree in engineering management or industrial engineering. The Global Executive Track is a distinctive program intended to accommodate working executives' busy timetable. The applicant is awarded a Ph.D. in industrial engineering after completing this track.
