RRC also provides applied research initiative in the field of business that focuses on applying the business knowledge on the local community and regional businesses. Directions conference is held every year to connect students with industry experts. There are diploma and certificate courses available in the areas mentioned. 

Community Services offers programs that train the students for a rewarding career through which they can help and change the lives of people, including adults, seniors, and children. The University has one of the best community services across all the parallel universities.

The programs are offered in the fields of: American Sign Language, Child and Youth Care, Disability Support, Early Childhood Education, and Therapeutic Recreation.

The program offers extensive practical sessions and fieldwork in various community settings. Students are also trained in relationship development, family dynamics, and support and intervention courses. The graduates are trained to be job-ready. Courses are also offered in the field of library and technology management to impart to the students the necessary skills to become an employee of a library. The positions that graduates can opt for are interpreters, early childhood educators, and a library technician. 

Computer and Information Systems Technology offers programs that cover and include software, hardware and all the basic disciplines of Information Technology and Computer Science. Students are offered work experience in their chosen field of study. The work experience can either be a co-op placement or an industry project. Along with industry-relevant technical training, students are also trained in business understanding and management.

The laboratories are well equipped with all the advanced technologies and actual production access level switches, routers and firewalls along with a virtualized server network. Modern Networking labs and project space are also provided by RRC. The programs are accredited by the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC).  

Creative Arts offers programs in the fields of creative writing, designing, advertising, animation, and graphic design. It also offers advanced post-graduate certificate courses of an eighth-month duration.

 Graduates can get job placements in industries like visual effects, 3D imaging, printing, animation and graphics, advertising, marketing, journalism, broadcasting, social media, data analytics, and photography. An entrance portfolio has to be submitted for review by the students applying for the  postgraduate certificate courses.

The programs are associated with industries like the Graphic Designers Canada (GDC) and the Association of Graphic Designers Canada (RGD). There are digital lab and photography studio for the students enrolled in photography.

RRC also partners with Professional Photographers of Canada, Professional Photographers of Canada – Manitoba Chapter and Manitoba Camera Club.    

Education offers programs that train students in the essentials of teaching, supporting and guiding the next generation. The focussed fields of study include business, technology, and vocational trades. Diploma, integrated 5-year courses, and Bachelor of Education courses are offered by RRC.

The education imparted includes knowledge of a wide range of disciplines like management, marketing, information technology, accounting,  digital photography, animation, film, and multimedia. Students gain work experience by working alongside other trained professionals in various children centers and teaching facilities.

The graduates will be trained to plan, organize, communicate effectively, manage the learning environment, follow learning styles and teaching strategies and conduct assessments and evaluation of student’s performance.   

Engineering and Construction Technology offers courses in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, and Computer-Aided Design.

The engineering subjects covered are architecture, manufacturing, civil, construction, mechanical and electrical disciplines. The first year is common for all; students are allowed to choose their special field of study in their second year. The final term of the program requires students to complete a project. Students are also offered opportunities to gain work experience through co-op placements. RRC provides advanced laboratories required for learning which include a fully furnished robotics laboratory. The courses are accredited by Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) and the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists (CCTT).

The programs offered in Construction Technology enables the students to apply for various external exams and assessments that include the Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal exams, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Green Associate exam and, National accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS).

The graduates can apply for positions such as architects, engineers, interior designers, home builders, contractors, and fabricators.  

Health Sciences offers programs that train the students to obtain a successful career in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. The programs are divided into allied health science, life sciences, and nursing.

They are provided in various fields including:

cardiac sonography

medical laboratory sciences

medical radiologic technology

MRI

spectroscopy

occupational health and safety

paramedicine

biology

chemistry

dental assistants

health information management

veterinary technology

nursing.

The programs have been recognized by the Canadian Forces. The courses mandate a 44-week practical training that provides an opportunity for the students to work with health care professionals in a health care setting.

The program also trains the students to become a Canadian Medical Laboratory Technologist by enabling them to appear for the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences Certification (CSMLS) examination. The nursing programs offer training in a private clinic and community service experiences in the second year. 

Hospitality offers courses that focus on the fields of:

The programs include two paid co-op work placements during the study period to emphasize industry-relevant learning experiences.

Additional skills such as safety equipment usage, sanitation, and inspection are also focused upon by the programs offered by RRC.  

Indigenous Education offers courses and support services for students who self-declare themselves as indigenous. The ACCESS Model Program and Indigenous student resource center are especially designed for the indigenous people. Various pathway programs are offered to make the students ready both academically and financially. The pathway programs mainly focus on areas like engineering technology, health sciences, trade, business, and creative arts.

Skilled Trades offers courses that meet the labor and training needs to create a well trained job-ready workforce. The programs cover basic trades such as carpentry, welding, electrical, plumbing, precision metal machining, and cabinetry. The Government of Manitoba, Entrepreneurship, Training, and Trade provides apprenticeship opportunities for students to learn industry-relevant skills and experience working in a real environment.

The main skills focused on are:

safe and proper use of woodworking machines

working with pipes as per specifications

reading blueprints

fundamentals of electricity and wiring

welding processes. 

Transportation Technology provides programs related to designing, manufacturing and maintaining various transport systems. The main areas of focus are aerospace and railways. The graduates opt for positions like technicians, engineers, manufacturers, and mechanics. Aerospace Manufacturing was developed by Boeing Canada, Bristol Aerospace, and RRC to train students to be skilled on-demand production workers.

The programs involve 25% theory and 75% practical sessions. An exclusive diesel mechanics workshop is available for training. The practical work includes working on engines, automatic transmissions, standard transmissions, basic electric and brake systems. The program assesses the students before admission with the help of a math and reading skills diagnostic testing session.
