Eligibility Criteria & Documents Required
Eligibility
Applicants for master's degree programmes and certifications must have a bachelor's degree from an approved institution or its international equivalent.
English proficiency scores:
- A total internet-based TOEFL score of 84 is required, with the following minimum scores in each section: Reading is number twenty-one, listening is number eighteen, speaking is number twenty-three, and writing is number twenty-two.
- A minimum score of 9 on the TOEFL Essentials exam is required. The following is the minimum score in each section: 9 for reading, 8.5 for listening, 9 for speaking, and 9 for writing
- For admission, an IELTS total band score of 6.5 is necessary, as well as 6.5 in each section: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
- Proof of English competence is recognised with a minimum score of 110 on the Duolingo English Test.
Documents required
A completed Graduate Admissions Application.
Two letters of recommendation are required. If you graduated or completed postgraduate education within the last three years, one of your references must be an academic reference.

Transcripts from all of the colleges and graduate schools you've attended. Transcripts that are not official can be uploaded to your application. Upon matriculation, official transcripts will be required.
An application cost of $85 for master's degree applications and $25 for graduate certificate applications is non-refundable.
Admission Dates & Process
Admission to a graduate degree or certificate programme is usually given in September, January, and May of each year, with some online programmes starting in October, March, and July.

Process
Complete the online application in its entirety.
Before submitting your online application, be sure you have all of the necessary credentials.
Check your online application's "Recommenders" tab to see if your recommenders have filed their recommendations. Using the "Recommenders" page, you can send reminder emails to any recommender who has yet to submit a suggestion.
Frequently Asked Questions
On your MyBU site, you will be able to check the status of your application documents. From the time your materials arrive at BU, please allow up to two weeks for processing. Multiple copies of your materials should not be sent, since this will cause processing delays.
Within 3-5 business days, BU will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your application. It will send you information for creating a MyBU Portal account in this email. As soon as you receive your application acknowledgement email, please complete this step.
When a judgment is posted on the MyBU portal, BU will send you an email. The following are the decisions:
Early Decision: No later than 15th December
Early Decision 2: No later than 15th February
Regular Decision: Late March to early April
