Biotechnology

The McCormick School of Engineering, Northwestern University, offers Master of Biotechnology programme (MPB) which students can complete in either 15 months (without an optional internship) or 21 months (with an optional 6-month industrial or academic internship). Students pursuing this programme have access to integrated coursework and extensive laboratory research. The batch size is about 30–40 students per year. At least half of the students are biology majors; the rest are engineers, biotechnologists, and other science majors. The tuition fee per quarter (2019-2020) is $16,528. The median salary of MPB graduates is $65,000.
The application are to be made online admissions are online. As a prerequisite, students must have either course of the following in their undergraduate education: Organic chemistry or biochemistry; General or physical chemistry; Biology (e.g., cellular or molecular);  Calculus

Civil and Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering provides graduate students with an opportunity to study multiple areas such as geotechnics, mechanics of materials and solids, structural engineering and infrastructure materials, etc. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Combined BS/MS Degree along with a Master of Science (MS) in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Other Graduate programs offered are: Environmental engineering and science (MS and Ph.D.); Geotechnics (MS and Ph.D.); Mechanics, materials, and structures (Ph.D.);  Structural Engineering (MS); Transportation systems analysis and planning (MS and Ph.D.)
Students who want to focus on either geotechnics or structural engineering can opt for the simulation-driven specialization. It contains fundamental concepts and applications in mechanical, design, manufacturing, structural, geotechnical and aerospace engineering. Students with a focus on structural engineering can complete the advanced structural design program. The program lays emphasis on theoretical and behavioral studies along with coursework in advanced structural analysis, theoretical and applied mechanics, material behavior.
Applicants need to apply online with their transcripts, a minimum of two letters of recommendation, the Statement of Purpose, the GRE score, the TOEFL score, their resume and a writing sample of any articles written by them. The transcripts should provide a year-by-year listing of courses taken, after secondary, and the grade or marks received for each one.

Chemical and Biological Engineering

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering aims to create an environment which supports the growth of the students, staff, and faculty leaders both in intellectual and personal spheres. The department encourages the students to tackle the most urgent problems which frequently arise in the discipline by conflating fundamental science with technological developments. It also fosters entrepreneurial ability amongst the students and drives them towards generating new ideas and transformative solutions for the challenges in the fields of energy, sustainability, global health, complex systems, and so on. 
The Master's programme, which is a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering, provides exposure to core concepts and diverse topics in current chemical and biological engineering practice, including biotechnology, nanoengineering, and sustainability. The programme aims to train students for leadership positions in industrial and university settings. Students have two options in this programme: Thesis option, that requires students to complete a minimum of seven courses along with with at least three units of research; Non-thesis option, that requires a minimum of 10 courses.

Electrical and Computer Engineering

Nationally, the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering graduate programmes are ranked 23rd and 18th. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers the following graduate degrees:
Master of Science (MS) in Computer Engineering. The programme has courses and research in computer systems, computer architecture, mobile systems, parallel systems, parallel processing, parallel algorithms, hardware-software interaction, VLSI design, embedded systems, numerical analysis, systems simulation, robotics, and large-scale systems.
Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering. The programme allows students to specialize in the different aspects of the field of electrical engineering. Students who complete their graduation in electrical engineering work in fields such as system design and specification; university teaching and research; sales; cost analysis; management; component design, research, and development; and consulting, production, and quality control.
Master of Science (MS) in Artificial Intelligence. The programme trains students in the emerging technologies of machine intelligence and how they can be designed and deployed to interact and integrate with humans. It is a full-time, 15-month master's degree that covers not only artificial intelligence technologies but also the creation of systems that function well when embedded in human workflows.
Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT): It is a 10-13 months master’s program. The tuition fee is $52,101/academic year. The curriculum blends communications systems/networks and computing systems engineering courses with finance, marketing, and management principles. Full-time students were able to avail 90%+ employment rate before program completion.

Mechanical Engineering

The BS program offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The graduate program has two options - thesis and non-thesis for a terminal MS degree. The graduate students can arrange a curriculum that accommodates individual needs, talents, and interests while satisfying the basic degree requirements.
