The university owns its own airport, that is, Ohio State University Airport six miles (10 km) northwest of downtown Columbus in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The main airport in Columbus is John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH).
Most students drive their private vehicles to and from Ohio State Airport, and this is the suggested mode of commute. The drive is approximately 7 miles and takes around 20 minutes.
The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is a public bus system providing transportation in the region around Columbus and central Ohio. It provides bus service from the primary campus to the OSU Airport shopping area which is about 1 mile away. This service is free for students from Ohio State as it is included in tuition charges. CABS is a free bus service provided by Ohio State. On-campus buses operate throughout the day for every 10-15 minutes. Buses operate every 30 minutes to provide a commute to the remote parts of the campus.
