Infrastructure

Located in Princeton, the University campus is spread across 500 acres. Princeton University campus has more than 180 buildings. Most of the buildings are quite old and yet look majestic. The campus is dotted with a number of towers and theatres and also has 10 libraries that have 7 million bound volumes and 11 million holdings. The campus also has an art museum, Chapel, and other state-of-the-art sports and recreational facilities for its students.

The University has 6 undergraduate residential colleges that guarantee on-campus accommodation to all undergraduates during the course of their study. A very small percentage of students choose off-campus accommodation and end up paying $1000 a month for it.

Princeton’s campus is located in Princeton, New Jersey, covering about 500 acres. Located between New York and Philadelphia, it is easily accessible by public transport or vehicles. Newark Liberty International Airport is the nearest and most conveniently accessible international airport.

Other international airports where shuttles and trains from the campus reach are: Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia International Airport (LGA).

A train locally known as “The Dinky” connects campus (Princeton Station at Alexander  Street) with Princeton Junction. Northbound NJ TRANSIT trains passing through Princeton Junction provide direct service to New York City and Newark Liberty International Airport. A southbound transfer to the SEPTA regional rail Trenton Line train at Trenton provides service to Philadelphia. Amtrak trains connect Princeton Junction to Washington, D.C., Boston, and the broader region.

The shuttle routes of Tiger Transit run through the primary campus and connect with Princeton train station, Forrestal campus, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, and several local grocery stores.

The Princeton-Mercer area is an idyllic region full of facilities, including world-class hotels and conference centers, museums, historic sites, music and food festivals, and top-class sport arenas. Also, it is equidistant from the two main metropolitan areas - New York and Philadelphia. There are more than a dozen parks and historic sites within the campus’s walking range including the Princeton Battlefield, the towpath of the Delaware and Raritan Canals, and the Charles H. Rogers Wildlife Refuge/Institute Woods.
