Queensland University of Technology is a major Australian university with a global outlook. It is one of the nation’s fastest growing research universities, and its courses are in high demand. Residence options

The QUT accommodation service provides students with information and advice on finding and securing accommodation. Students can rent a room in a student residential complex. Alternatively, students can rent an agent-operated student accommodation.


Brisbane is well connected to different parts of the world through direct flights. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the airport from the Gardens Point campus and 12 minutes from the Kelvin Grove campus The Queensland Rail City network provides urban, suburban and inter-urban electric passenger railway services. There are ample bus routes and cabs to reach the campus.

In their free time, students can Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and the cruise along the Brisbane river. If you want a long day out, you can visit the Stradbroke Island on a day trip. There is a Careers and Employment Centre to help students prepare for their professional lives. Students can talk to in-house career counselors to get advice about their study program, how to apply for jobs or how to go about the process of looking for jobs. There is assistance available for writing resumes, cover letter and preparing for job interviews. The Real World Placement programme along with the Work Integrated Learning programmes in classroom help students get non paid, voluntary or paid placement positions to get an idea of a professional workplace while studying at QUT.

Master of Professional Engineering: The programme is ideal for practising engineers who want advanced, cutting-edge knowledge and skills in an engineering field or want to move to an engineering management role. This two-year course provides a developmental path for professional engineers to master skills and the interaction of disciplines.

Students can choose from three streams as part of this major:

  1. The civil engineering stream: Covers a broad spectrum of civil engineering disciplines, expanding the knowledge gained in undergraduate degrees and allowing one to apply it to complex problems. The course will deal with the future challenges in the sustainability of civil infrastructure with respect to global warming and population growth.
  2. The civil and construction stream: Provides advanced studies in design, building and maintenance of civil infrastructures, while expanding the knowledge gained in undergraduate degrees. It explores the sustainability of buildings, roads and utility networks in the context of future challenges to prepare students for a changing world.
  3. Master of Project Management: This course provides knowledge and experience in managing projects in professional organisations. It addresses the main concepts and methodologies of project management and provides opportunities for advanced study for cognate students.

Master of Data Analytics helps to solve domain-relevant problems by synthesising knowledge from mathematics, statistics, computer science, information systems and business process management.
