Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers the following undergraduate degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - four-year Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Mechanical Engineering; four-year Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Aerospace Engineering; B.S/B. A - students may major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering as well as take a major from, for example, the School of Arts or School or Environmental Sciences. It also offers the following five-year programmes - BS-MBA (Master of Business Administration) - undergraduate students who wish to pursue a degree in business after their graduation may take an extra year to complete the degree; BS-MBS (Master of Business and Science).
The graduate programmes offered by the department are two-year Master of Science thesis/non-thesis; M.Eng; Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering. The Ph.D. program is open to students who are in the process of completing their master’s or have already completed it. However, exceptional students with high grades during their undergraduate years, exceptional GRE scores, and strong letters of recommendation may be considered for admission.

The Biotechnology curriculum equips students with a fundamental knowledge and laboratory skills pertaining to the field of biotechnology while focussing on key areas like molecular biology, genetics, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and delivery/formulation technologies. Rutgers does not offer MS or Doctorate degrees in Biotechnology.
However, Rutgers offers a five-year MBS (Masters in Business and Science) with a concentration in Biotechnology and Genomics.

Chemical and Biochemical
The undergraduate degrees offered at Rutgers by the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department are a combined bachelors/masters degree programming, combining a BS in chemical engineering with either an MS in chemical engineering or a ME in pharmaceutical engineering and a combined BS and MBA degree. The master’s programmes on offer are Masters of Science (MS) (full-time/part-time) in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Master of Engineering (ME) (full-time/part-time) in Pharmaceutical Engineering and a combined BS/MS in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Civil and Environmental Engineering
Rutgers University offers a four-year B.S program in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In addition, the university offers a number of five-year programs which are B.A./B.S. program in cooperation with the School of Arts and Sciences; B.S/MBA program - during the third year of their undergraduate degree course, students may apply to the Rutgers Business School (RBS) for admission to the program; BS/MS in Engineering - an accelerated master’s program that allows excellent undergraduate students to add one more year to their undergraduate schooling to complete their graduate degree in engineering. The Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences offers the following undergraduate courses in Computer Sciences - B.S. Degree in Computer Science and a B.A. Degree in Computer Science. The B.S Degree has more rigorous requirements than the BA, in the sense that it prefers students with a science background. The graduate programme offered by the department is an M.S Degree in Computer Science which has two options - thesis option for which the student must write a master’s thesis, and essay option for which the students must write an original paper in a field of computer science that was a part of the student's course work. The department also offers a Professional Masters program in Data Science and a Ph.D. program in Computer Science. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers two B.S programs - a B.S in Electrical Engineering and a B.S in Computer Engineering. The Industrial and Systems Engineering department offers a four-year BS in Industrial and Systems engineering as an undergraduate programme. The two options offered in this course are - Financial Systems and Manufacturing Engineering. It also offers a combined B.S. - M.S. and B.S. - M.E. program; BS-MBS (Master of Business and Science); BS-MBA (Master of Business Administration - Future Leaders MBA); BS-MEd (Master of Education). The graduate programme on offer is a Master of Science (MS) and Master of Engineering (MEng) in Applied Industrial and Systems Engineering. This MS has three options of study - Industrial and systems engineering; Production and manufacturing systems engineering; Quality reliability engineering. One of the unique features of this course is that a student is allowed to choose a focus area of study out of the following: Biomaterials, Electronic and Optical, Energy Conversion and Storage, Nanomaterials, Polymers and Packaging Materials. The Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering has two options - Research Masters which takes around two years to complete and Taught Masters which requires students to give a paper presentation at the end of the course. This program takes one to two years to complete. The Ph.D. degree is usually done on a full-time basis and requires four to five years. Submission of a written doctoral thesis is required.
