At the University of North Texas for the academic year 2023-2024, tuition rates vary based on residency and level of study. Undergraduate Texas residents are charged $11,164 annually, while out-of-state undergraduates pay $21,244. Graduate students from Texas have a lower annual rate of $9,062, in contrast to their out-of-state counterparts, who pay $16,622. These figures represent base tuition fees and do not include other potential expenses such as books, supplies, or living costs. Admission Requirements for International Students

Both undergraduates and graduate international students need to take care of these admission requirements at UNT:

1. To apply for a bachelor's degree at the University of North Texas, students must have graduated from a high school recognized by their home country's education ministry.

1. Official transcripts from each college or university they have attended, in both their native language and English, must be produced by the students.

1. UNT degree program applicants must demonstrate English Language Proficiency, which can be achieved through a variety of tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo. 

Note: Students applying to graduate programs must submit their bachelor’s transcript in English. 

Step-by-Step Admission Process

You can follow the below-given steps to apply at the University of North Texas - 

Step 1: Submit The Application Online Via the UNT website

Step 2: All international students are required to pay the application fee of around 85$

Step 3: Submit Your Official Academic Credentials

Step 4: Submit your English proficiency Result

Step 5: Check with the academic department for further application submission deadlines.

Step 6: Provide the statement of Finance and proof of funding documents.

Note: Students who have been admitted can submit their I-20 requests via the iNorthTX portal. International students are not eligible to receive I-20s from UNT until they have been granted full admission, as per federal regulations. 

Please consider that until a student passes the music audition and demonstrates English language proficiency (ELP), the College of Music will not review their file. The above-mentioned program will grant qualified applicants to the College of Music and IELI exclusive admission letters and, if necessary, I-20s.

Following completion of IELI, the student needs to apply to UNT. If accepted, the applicant must meet additional university requirements and pass an audition held by the College of Music. Conditions for conditional admission can be reviewed for the majority of other majors not on the above list.

All the students who are applying for the University of North Texas must submit their SAT, ACT, and ELP Scores. The students must have an aggregate of minimum following scores in these exams:

AP- Advanced Placement: A minimum Score of 5 in English language & composition is required. 

IB-International Baccalaureate: A minimum aggregate of Grade 5 on the higher-level English A1 subject

SAT1: A score of 560 or higher on both critical reading and writing

ACT: 21 or higher in English

IELTS: 6.0+

TOEFL: 79+

PTE: 53+

DET: 100+

Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency: C1

1. For UNT undergraduate students, non-residents pay $24,392 for 15 credit hours each semester during the Fall and Spring. Texas residents should consult UNT's Tuition Estimator for precise costs.
2. For UNT graduate students Based on a resident's 9 hours per semester, fall and spring. For Fall/Spring, the non-resident rate is $16,080 for nine hours each semester.

UNT Excellence Scholarships

With pride, the University of North Texas extends UNT Excellence Scholarships to incoming first-year students who have shown excellence in academia. The six UNT Excellence Scholarship award levels for first-time freshmen in Fall 2024 are as follows:

To be eligible for the UNT Excellence Scholarship, students must:

Acceptance as a first-time freshman at UNT immediately after high school.

Full-time each Fall and Spring, minimum 12 credits.

Apply by March 1, 2024, for Excellence Scholarship.

Apply early to UNT with all documents for scholarship consideration.
