- Fall intake - This intake is preferred in almost all US universities because it coincides with the beginning of the academic year in the USA. This is an intake in which the majority of the local and international students are admitted. Also, there are more scholarships that are available for this intake.
- Spring intake - The classes for spring intake start in January and end in May. This is the second most preferred type of intake for students to start their higher education journey in the USA. As compared to the fall intake the number of students getting enrolled in this intake is less resulting in a quick admission and visa process.

Summer intake - This is a minor intake season and very few USA universities provide admission during this intake. This intake begins in May and ends in August. The semesters that start in summer intake are less competitive due to fewer students. Usually, language and cultural courses start in the summer intake.
