Eligibility & Documents Required for Admission

Before a student can be accepted, he or she must meet the basic entrance standards. In order to meet these requirements, an applicant must:

  • Have a bachelor's degree with a satisfactory grade-point average;
  • Have an acceptable and current score on the Graduate Record Examination or the Graduate Management Admission Test, as specified by the department or programme to which application is being made
  • Demonstrate potential for graduate work in the department or programme to which application is being made.
  • Be accepted by the department in which a degree is sought for admission. There are certain programs which want students to satisfactorily complete a background check review and submit it considering it as an important condition of admission.

TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo are all accepted by UTA. If English is not your first language, you must show that you have a sufficient command of the language in order to succeed in graduate school. Unless you have a bachelor's or master's degree from an approved U.S. university, you must submit official test score reports directly from the testing agency.

An official test score record sent directly from the testing agency must be submitted.

Applicants should adhere to the Graduate Admissions dates outlined above if the department does not designate a deadline.

Admission Dates & Process

Priority Dates for Graduate Applications:
