Established in 1873, Vanderbilt University is a private research university which offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees. Fondly called Vandy, the University has been able to establish itself as an internationally recognized research university. The University has four undergraduate schools which offer 70 majors. It also has 6 graduate and professional schools.

Vanderbilt University was ranked 108th in the world by Times Higher Education World University Rankings while the U.S. News and Reports ranked it 14th in the nation.

Infrastructure:

Vanderbilt University campus is located in Nashville and is spread across 330 acres. The campus is a National Arboretum and has more than 300 species of trees and shrubs. Faculty and pedagogy:

The University has excellent faculty – most of who are recognized in their respective fields. Professors of the Math's and Engineering department are considered as one of the best in university. Though it is a private research University, Vanderbilt University offers scholarships and financial aid to its students.
