Established in 1873, Vanderbilt University is a private research university which offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees. Fondly called Vandy, the University has been able to establish itself as an internationally recognized research university. The University has four undergraduate schools which offer 70 majors. It also has 6 graduate and professional schools.

Vanderbilt University was ranked 108th in the world by Times Higher Education World University Rankings while the U.S. News and Reports ranked it 14th in the nation.


Vanderbilt University campus is located in Nashville and is spread across 330 acres. The campus is a National Arboretum and has more than 300 species of trees and shrubs. The campus is eclectically designed and has buildings of various eras and in different designs.
