The Victoria University, based in Melbourne, got its university status in 1990. The university is ranked in the world’s top 2% universities as Times Higher Education – THE – World University Rankings 2018, 2019 and 2020. It is one of those universities which maintains strong links with the industries. Students here get to study under leading industry professionals. The university’s flagship campus is located in Footscray Park. The Health and Education hub is located in the St. Albans campus on McKecknie Street. TAFE courses are delivered in the Footscray Nicholson Campus. There are other campuses situated at 300 Flinders Street and 301 Flinders Lane in central Melbourne which house many postgraduate business degrees and courses in graphic design, visual art and multimedia. Health and beauty courses are taught in the City King campus. The University’s College of Law and Justice is located in the City Queen campus. The Weribee campus provides training and facilities in water, food and fire safety research. The Sunshine campus is located on Ballarat Road, Sunshine and hosts building and engineering courses. A lot of Business courses are provided for international students at the VU Sydney campus. There is VU at MetroWest too.

Infrastructure
The university has seven libraries spread across all its campuses. Also, the VU campuses are equipped with various facilities like fire testing facilities, Health Research facilities, sleep laboratories and Sport and Exercise research facilities.
Residing Options
Victoria University takes care of its students’ accommodation needs in partnership with UniLodge. UniLodge facilities are provided in Footscray, Melbourne, and many other locations around Melbourne. The residences are located very close to the classes and are equipped with excellent facilities. Under university accommodation, students will have access to facilities like furnished room, pastoral care and academic support.
You also have other options like homestays, private rentals, share houses, hotels, etc.
There are emergency housing services too provided by the university.
Scholarships
The University offers scholarships on the basis of merit. Students taking up projects in the areas of research priority, or in the areas of research under their research facilities and centres, or projects supported by industry partners get an edge over others when it comes to winning these scholarships. The scholarships cover the tuition fee and living allowance.

Jobs and Placements
Victoria University maintains strong links with the industry to help its students get practical experience and industry exposure. Placements in Informatics and Communication Technology are usually funded by the Victorian government, and students are required to complete an interview with an industry partners. Nursing and paramedical clinical departments require you to take placements in both rural and metropolitan areas.
A recent survey revealed that Victoria University alumni are doing very good in the industry, and have become the second top-earning workers in Victoria, only three years after graduation. The 2018 Graduate Outcomes Survey said that VU graduates have been successfully placed and their incomes are surpassed only by Monash University.
Victoria University Location
The University arranges a free pick up for the international students from the Melbourne Airport. The students are supposed to book for this service 10 days prior to their day of arrival.
Free shuttle buses run between the train stations and campuses in Footscray and St Albans. The campuses are nicely connected with public transport like buses, trams and trains. You can also reach the campus on cars and bikes, parking is provided on most campuses.
In an attempt to make lives easier for the students, the government is building a world-class hospital near the Footscray Park campus, the construction of which is supposed to start in 2020.
