12th Grade
To be eligible for Arizona State University (ASU), first-year students must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or better from high school, which is equivalent to a 'B' grade where 'A' equals 4.00. They need to complete three years of high school courses. If they are still in high school, ASU looks for grades from 9th to 11th. If they have finished high school, ASU requires grades from 10th to 12th. Applicants must present a completed high school diploma or certificate. For international students who graduated from high school outside the U.S., they must meet specific requirements in math and science. They need four years of math (including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and one math course requiring algebra II) and three years of lab science (one year each from biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics). Additionally, applicants must complete the following coursework: 4 years of math, 4 years of English (not ESL/ELL), 3 years of lab sciences, 2 years of social sciences (including 1 year of American history), 2 years of the same second language, and 1 year of fine arts or career and technical education. Applicants must also be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class or have a 3.00 GPA in competency courses.
