The Samay Kalyan Gujarat Yojana is an initiative by the Gujarat Social Justices and Empowerment Department. The SJED Digital Gujarat has introduced the e-Samaj Kalyan Gujarat Digital Yojana for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Economically Backward Classes (EBC). 


The loan for foreign study scheme is offered to students who belong to scheduled caste sections of society and cannot afford the cost of education. The loan covers the cost of tuition fees, books, and other expenses related to education.

Eligibility criteria of Samaj Kalyan education loan

The Loan for foreign study under the E-Samaj Kalyan scheme is designed exclusively for individuals from marginalized backgrounds. To access the advantages of this scheme, potential beneficiaries need to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria, which include:

  1. list items Students should belong to SC/ST or Economically Backward Classes (EBC).
  2. list items Students should be native of any state of Gujarat.
  3. list items At least 60% or more marks in class-12.
  4. list items Eligible courses: PG, Phd., Computer courses, Technical and professional courses after 12th class.
  5. list items Students should have secured admission to a recognized university abroad through merit.
  6. list items A maximum of two people from a family can apply for this scheme. 
  7. list items A student can apply before going abroad or within six months of going abroad.

To register on the SJED and eventually apply for Samaj Kalyan education loan follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official e-Samaj Kalyan Gujarat website.

Step 2: On the extreme right hand side click on ‘Please Register Here’ option and complete the registration form.

Step 3: After successful registration to the E-Samaj Kalyan page, applicants can select the loan for foreign study and apply online.

 Note: When you apply for an education loan through Samaj Kalyan, you have to timely update the authorities about your whereabouts, place of work, contact number and email-id until the loan is completely repaid.
