Mcgill University Location

Montreal is a big town in the southwest of Quebec's Canadian province.  In 2012, QS University Rankings named Montreal as the 10th best location in the globe for a university student. McGill University has excellent airport connectivity on the highway from all sides. The nearest major airport is Montréal / Saint-Hubert Airport (YHU / CYHU), which is 18 km from McGill University and has national flights from Montreal, Canada. Another major airport is Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL / CYUL), which is 21 km from McGill University and has global and national flights from Montreal, Canada.

The university can be readily accessed by bus, vehicle, taxi or shuttle from these airports. There is a free bus service to and from McGill for students coming from Sainte-Foy, Trois-Rivières and Gatineau. Students can also use a government bicycle sharing system called Bixi Bikes. The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) 747 Express runs a bus to McGill University from Montreal (YUL) every 10 minutes, and it takes 25 minutes to get there.

Every four hours, VIA Rail runs a train from Ottawa (YOW) to McGill University, and the trip takes one hour and a half.
