What are the benefits of the Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship?
One scholarship will be awarded, inclusive of the course's usual full-time study load:
Postgraduate tuition fees in full,
A yearly living allowance of INR 6,79,000,
Textbooks and an annual round-trip flight to India - up to INR 2,26,000 per year,
Overseas Health Insurance for the length of the program (single coverage only),
Fees for Student Amenities,
Housing on campus for the length of the program.
What is the eligibility criteria for the Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship?
To be eligible for the Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria given below.
Applicants must be international students as defined by the Higher Education Support Act 2003 to be eligible for the award. This does not apply to Australian citizens or permanent residents.
You must be an Indian citizen and a present resident of the slum neighborhoods where ASHA Society operates in Delhi, India. Evidence of residence will be requested.
At the time of application for the award, the candidate must have applied for but not yet begun a postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney.
Applicants who are about to begin a second degree at the University of Sydney are unable to apply.
To be considered, applicants must first fulfill all Asha Community Health and Development Society (ASHA) standards and be suggested as a preferred candidate by this organization.
The Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship is a program that is renewable. However, in order to extend their scholarship, the recipient must meet the following continuous eligibility requirements:
The recipient must maintain a minimum semester average mark (SAM) of 65 and have no outstanding fees in order to continue receiving the scholarship.
Maintain full-time enrollment. A part-time scholarship must be sought for and accepted by the Scholarships Office, and a living allowance of 50% of the full-time rate will be paid.
To earn their next payment, recipients conducting an exchange within the period of this scholarship must have received a Satisfied Requirements grade (SR).
The scholarship can be transferred to another major, degree, or faculty but not to another university.

What is the application process for the Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship?

It is required to complete the 'Acceptance of their Unconditional Admission Offer' form before the scholarship deadline. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship being revoked.
After the census date, selected students must stay enrolled at the University of Sydney.
Each semester, living allowance funds are transferred to the student's Australian bank account in order for them to stay and travel in Australia.
Textbooks and a yearly return trip to India will be paid up to INR 1,69,700, with payments made in April and September of each year.
