Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Applicants need to submit a Statement of Purpose that is two pages long, typed, and double-spaced. In this document, explain why you want to enter the mental health profession. Highlight your related experiences and any special reasons for choosing Santa Clara University. Provide background information about your work experiences and describe what aspects of the work you find most engaging and meaningful.

Letters of Recommendation (LOR)

Three letters of recommendation are required. These letters should be from people who have supervised or evaluated you. This can include professors, bosses, job supervisors, clinical supervisors, volunteer coordinators, or similar roles.

Current Resume/CV

You need to submit your current Resume or CV. It should include your educational background and relevant experiences, such as jobs, internships, community service, activities, languages (if applicable), and research projects.

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

Submit one copy of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended. If your undergraduate degree was earned outside of the US, it must be evaluated by WES using their ICAP, course-by-course evaluation.

You also need to provide proof of English language proficiency.
