Spain is among the prominent destinations in Europe for pursuing higher education. The universities in Spain have a very high standard of education which attracts students from across the globe. Apart from the world-class universities, the intra-Europe mobility of students gives you an additional reason for studying in Spain. Spanish universities always figure among the top institutions in the world at all rankings. With multiple deadlines for application, there are ample opportunities for students to take admission. However, it is important to choose the right intake as not all courses are available at all the universities in every intake.
There are two intakes for admissions at Spanish universities. Some universities also offer a third intake but primarily the first two intakes are the most sought. The application deadlines vary from one university to another, and also on the course you choose. So, you need to see all the deadlines carefully, and then accordingly plan the admission.
Intakes Available for International Students at Spanish Universities
Universities in Spain primarily have two intakes barring some exceptions wherein universities even go for a third intake. But our primary focus will be the first two intakes that you should choose for admissions to Spanish universities. The two intakes are:
Fall Intake: The Fall intake starts in October, and there are two deadlines for it. The first deadline for the Fall intake is in June which is the preferred intake for most Indian students. However, if you miss the first deadline then the second deadline is the Fall intake starts in September. It is advised to apply on the first deadline itself as you might miss some of the courses if they get filled on the first deadline.
Spring Intake: The Spring intake starts in February, and usually students who miss the Fall intake take admission. Unlike the Fall intake, there is only one intake in this admission session. The application deadlines are in December, and one mustn’t miss this deadline as this is the last intake for an academic year for all the major courses.
