Eligibility criteria
Applicants must fulfill the Amsterdam Merit Scholarships eligibility criteria listed below:
- Applicants must be from outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
- Applicants must have applied for a full-time Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at the University of Amsterdam.
- Applicants must have been admitted to a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at the University of Amsterdam.
- Applicants must have achieved excellent academic results in their previous studies, as evidenced by a grade point average (GPA) equivalent to at least:
- 3.0 out of 4.0 for American students
- 2.1 out of 2.1 for UK students
- 7.0 out of 10 for Dutch students
- Other international qualifications will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Applicants must demonstrate an outstanding motivation to study at the University of Amsterdam, both in their application letter and the interview (if applicable).
Application process
The application process may slightly differ for each graduate school. For instance, it is a part of the admission application process for the science faculty, whereas there is a separate application form for humanities degrees.
