Types of CWIT scholarships

Eligible candidates of different academic levels can apply for a Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship. The table below summarizes various scholarships offered by the CWIT:

CWIT Long-Term Grants

28 - 38 years

  • For a full-time MA course of up to 1 year
  • Applicants must have a first degree. Work experience is an advantage

CWIT Short Research Grants

25 - 45 years

  • A one-time grant of 1,500 GBP for eligible courses maximum of 3 weeks
  • Minimum 4 years work experience or applicant must be in the final year of Ph. D.

Grants towards final year of Doctoral study in UK

25 - 38 years

  • Up to 500 - 600 GBP to Indian students to do the final stage of their Doctoral study in the UK
  • Must return to India after course completion

Visiting Fellowships

25 - 45 years

  • For 3 - 5 months
  • Applicants must have completed postgraduate studies. Minimum 5 years experience is preferred

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet the CWIT Scholarships eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarships. The major eligibility requirements are listed below:

  • Be an Indian citizen
  • Age must be between 25 - 45 years
  • Not a recipient of the CWIT scholarship for the last 5 years
  • Apply for a course among the eligible fields of study
  • Have relevant past academic qualifications

Additionally, you will be required to provide:

  • An IELTS Certificate, as it is essential for unconditional acceptance into most UK courses.
  • Proof of unconditional acceptance on the course, program, attachment, or internship you have applied for, or evidence of progress towards acceptance.
  • In some cases, a portfolio submission may be necessary, which can be in the form of online links or uploading pictures or relevant documents.
