To be eligible for these scholarships, you must fulfill the following criteria:
1. Citizenship: Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
2. Return Requirement: Return to your country of citizenship for at least two years after your award ends.
3. Education: Have completed an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a postgraduate program at a UK university. This is usually equivalent to a UK upper second-class 2:1 honors degree.
4. Work Experience: Have at least two years (2,800 hours) of work experience.
5. University Applications: Apply to three eligible UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer from one by the application deadline.
Note: If you already possess a master's degree, it does not disqualify you from applying for a Chevening Award to pursue a second master's degree in the UK. However, you must provide a clear justification for why obtaining a second master's degree would aid you in achieving your career goals of driving positive change in your home country.
Ensure you meet the minimum work-experience requirement before submitting your Chevening application. Chevening Scholarships UK require applicants to have at least two years of work experience.
The eligible types of work experience for Chevening Scholarships UK include : Full-time or part-time employment. voluntary work, paid or unpaid internships
Note: Your total hours worked will be computed by multiplying the number of weeks worked by the number of hours worked per week. Please note that a full-time workweek consists of 35-60 hours and a full-time work year consists of 40-50 weeks.
All Chevening applications must be submitted through their online application system (OAS). You may need to log back in at various points during the application and selection process for updates or to submit documents.

2. Full-Sized Window: Complete your application in a full-sized window for better readability.
3. Navigation: Avoid using your browser’s back and forward buttons. Use the form’s menus instead to navigate.
4. Credentials: Remember your username and password for easy logins.
5. Accurate Information: Enter accurate information, especially your contact details. Update your email address if it changes.
6. Preparation: Prepare your answers offline and paste them into the form later. Delete the questions to avoid duplication.
7. Word Counts: Each answer must be between 100 and 500 words.
8. Save Frequently: Save your work regularly as there is no automatic save function. Sessions close after 60 minutes.
9. Multiple Sessions: You can complete the form in multiple sessions. Use the ‘Logout’ button and keep your login details safe.
10. Originality: Do not plagiarize. Ensure all answers are original.
11. Language: Submit your application in English. Non-English applications are ineligible.
12. File Requirements: Upload JPG/PNG/PDF documents no larger than 5MB, with filenames under 50 characters.
13. Final Submission: Only submit your application when you are completely satisfied. You cannot modify it after submission except for contact details and document uploads.
14. One Application: You can only submit one application. If you withdraw, you cannot start a new one until the next application cycle.

There is an Online Application System (OAS) for the Chevening scholarships. Candidates can apply for these scholarships through the scholarship portal. The portal will be open by August 2024 (tentatively), when the applicant must create an account, log in, and initiate the process. There will be long answer questions so applicants can note them, prepare answers offline, and copy-paste them. Documents must be uploaded in JPG/PNG/PDF format and less than 5 MB.

The English requirements specified by the university are applicable to the Chevening Scholarship. Specific English requirements for these scholarships were removed in 2020.
The minimum GPA required for university admission is enough to apply for the Chevening Scholarship. Students may refer to their university website for information regarding the minimum GPA requirement for their course.
Typically, it is not possible to receive another funding when a student is applying for the Chevening Scholarship. If necessary, the student can contact the program officer and submit the details of funding, such as the amount and necessity for additional scholarships.
The eligible courses are full-time master’s programs and not research-based, starting in the autumn term (September or October).
Part-time and distance learning courses are excluded from the Chevening Scholarships. Courses having less than 9 months and more than 12 months duration, Ph.D. or DPhil, and taught more than one month outside the UK are also ineligible for the scholarship.
