GREAT Scholarships India

The GREAT (Global Research and Education in Advanced Technologies) Scholarships India is a scholarship program funded by the UK government's Department for Education. The program provides financial support to Indian students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK. There are around 25 GREAT Scholarships available for Indian students.

The scholarship program covers a wide range of academic disciplines, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), social sciences, and humanities. The scholarship offers financial assistance for tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs. The scholarship duration is typically one year for master's programs and three years for doctoral programs.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the GREAT Scholarships are as follows:

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Undergraduate in the proposed subject area for the scholarship
  • English language requirements
  • Work or academic experience in the chosen area of study

Application process

Applications for GREAT Scholarship can be made only through participating universities in UK. Generally, the applicants are required to submit an academic essay of 500 words. Selection process

The selection committee of the GREAT scholarship shortlists applicants based on their past academic records, learning potential, and the submitted academic essay. The shortlisted applicants must pass the interview round to win the GREAT Scholarship. The selection process is completed every year by the month of June.
