The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung has been awarding scholarships to international students from all over the world to study and research in Germany since 1970. Their scholarship programme is aimed towards overseas students and graduates with a university degree who plan to pursue postgraduate or master's studies, doctorate studies, or a research stay of at least four semesters at a German institution.

What are the benefits of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Scholarship?

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship is offered by the KAS Foundation to overseas students studying in Germany.

It is provided to students interested in pursuing graduate or doctorate degrees.

The total stipend of INR 18,57,300 for graduate studies and INR 39,33,200 for doctorate courses is divided into monthly installments.

Other privileges available to Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship holders include:

  • list items Subsidise health insurance up to a maximum of 120 EUR each month.
  • list items A family allowance of INR 25,128 is available if you and your spouse dwell in Germany for three months and his or her monthly income does not exceed INR 40,970.
  • list items A monthly payment of 194 EUR for children living with you in Germany.
  • list items Tuition expenses for universities can be paid up to INR 1,36,568 each semester in rare instances and on application if the budget is adequate.
  • Submission of an official German translation of the kid's birth certificate and formal denial of your quest for public child allowance are required.

    To be eligible for a Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship, applicants must complete the following qualifying requirements:

  • list items International students who want to study in Germany are welcome to apply.
  • list items Before applying, applicants must have a bachelor's degree.
  • list items Students must pursue master's or doctoral degrees at one of the KAS partner universities in Germany.
  • list items When applying, the candidate should not be older than 30 years old.

    To be considered for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship, candidates must complete an application form.

    Candidates residing near Focus regions for 2024 can apply in writing to the KAS office. Candidates living in Germany can apply for the scholarship using the domestic online process, along with the necessary documentation.Every year, the application period concludes on July 15th.

    What are the documents required for the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Scholarship?

    The documents required for the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Scholarship are:

  • list items A formal CV that includes previous attendance at social camps.
  • list items Academic transcripts with approved translations.
  • list items Evidence of German Language Proficiency B2 proficiency certificate.
  • list items Letter of Recommendation signed by a University Professor with a doctorate. The letter should not be older than two months.

    Every year, new target locations for the selection process are established. 

    The next regional selection conferences will be held in 2024 in collaboration with the KAS offices in Turkey, Singapore, and the South Caucasus.

    There are no topic or subject limits. Doctorates in human medicine or dentistry, however, are not financed.
