Macquarie University Entry Requirements
Undergraduate/ Pathway Programs:

Applicants must have completed a recognised senior secondary certificate or its overseas equivalent.

Alternatively, entry may be via a recognised foundation course, an approved 2 or 3 year diploma / advanced diploma / associate degree, or at least one year of a university bachelor degree from a recognised institution.
Postgraduate Coursework Programs:
Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Programs:

Applicants must hold an honours degree, a research-focused master’s, or an equivalent qualification with a strong research component.

A clear research proposal and confirmation of suitable supervision are required as part of the application.
English Language Requirements:

For many undergraduate and postgraduate courses: accepted tests include IELTS, TOEFL iBT, and PTE Academic. Most programs require an IELTS Academic overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 83 (with minimum 13 Reading, 12 Listening, 18 Speaking, 21 Writing), or PTE Academic 58 with no sub-score below 50.
Macquarie University Application Process
Macquarie University classifies you as an international student if you are not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand and do not hold Australian permanent residency or an Australian permanent humanitarian visa.

Step 1: Select your course from the available undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, pathway, or research programs.

Step 2: Ensure that you check the entry requirements; also review qualification recognition, English-language proficiency requirements, and eligibility for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Step 3: Apply online through the Macquarie University application portal, or (if eligible) via UAC International, or through an authorised agent.

Step 4: Receive your offer, accept it, and prepare for enrolment.
Macquarie University Scholarships for International Students
Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship:

This scholarship grants a tuition fee reduction of up to AUD $10,000.
-
Fulfil the academic and English proficiency criteria for entry into a Macquarie University bachelor’s or postgraduate coursework program.
-
Students must remain enrolled full-time for the duration of your course, completing 8 standard units each year.
ASEAN Partner Scholarship:
-
Offers up to AUD $15,000 per year toward tuition fees for eligible students.
-
Open to international students transferring from a recognised Macquarie “partner institution” under a dual-degree or articulation arrangement.

Applicants must meet Macquarie’s regular academic and English requirements and commence a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree (not study-abroad or exchange).
South Asia Scholarship:

Offers a tuition-fee reduction of up to AUD $10,000 per year for eligible students.

Available to international students who are citizens of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka.

Applicable for Bachelor’s or Postgraduate coursework degrees at Macquarie.
India $10,000 Early Acceptance Scholarship:

Provides a tuition-fee benefit of AUD $10,000 for eligible Indian international students enrolling in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework at Macquarie.

To qualify, applicants must accept their offer by the specified deadline, pay the commencement fee, and commit to full-time enrolment for the duration of the course.
International College Scholarship:

Offers a one-time tuition fee reduction of up to AUD $5,000 for eligible students enrolled in the university’s foundation, diploma, or pathway courses.

Available to international students only (i.e. non-Australian / non-New Zealand citizens / permanent residents) who have received a full-time offer for an eligible pathway course at the College.
