Medicine MBChB at University of Glasgow

The Department of Medicine at the University of Glasgow offers a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree. This program lasts for five years and focuses on Medicine and Health Sciences. For international students, the tuition fee is £58,890. To apply for this degree, students need to take an English language test, such as IELTS or PTE.

Students will gain hands-on experience in clinical settings across the West of Scotland. This includes our newly updated medical teaching center at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, which features a specially designed learning and teaching area, teaching labs, and a modern clinical skills suite.

Students will have the chance to complete two elective study periods and can choose from over 20 intercalated degree options. This gives them the freedom to explore topics they are personally interested in more deeply.

The MBChB program uses a 'spiral curriculum.' This means that students will revisit subjects at different points in their studies, with each revisit providing more depth and a stronger clinical focus.

12th Grade

To apply, students must have a minimum overall score of 80% in Class XII for the Indian School Certificate (ISC/CISCE), with all subjects also at 80% or above. For the Intermediate Certificate, an overall score of 85% is required, with all subjects at 85% or above. The Higher School Certificate also requires a minimum overall score of 85% in Class XII, with all subjects at 85% or above. For the All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE), a minimum overall score of 80% is needed, with all subjects at 80% or above. Additional requirements include A-levels in Chemistry and either Biology, Physics, or Mathematics. GCSE English must be at Grade B or 6, and GCSE Biology must also be at Grade B or 6 if not studied at A-level.

IELTS

Marks: 7.0

Students need an overall IELTS score of 7.0 with no sub-test under 7.0.

PTE

Marks: 80.0

An overall PTE score of 80 is needed, with a minimum of 80 in each component.
