BA Classics and Modern Languages with year abroad at University of Oxford

The Faculty of Classics at the University of Oxford offers a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Modern Languages with a year abroad. This is a 5-year degree program that focuses on Humanities and Social Sciences. For international students, the tuition fees at Oxford University are £41,130. To apply for this degree, students need to provide proof of English language proficiency through tests like IELTS or PTE.

12th Grade

Applicants need to have completed high school with a minimum score of 90%. It is helpful but not required to have studied classical languages like Latin and Ancient Greek, Classical Civilisation, or Ancient History. For subjects like Classics and modern languages (French, German, Russian, Spanish), candidates should have the modern language at A-level, IB Higher Level, or an equivalent. For beginners' courses in languages like Czech, Italian, Modern Greek, Portuguese, and German, candidates can apply with an A-level or equivalent. However, beginners’ courses are only for those who have studied Latin or Ancient Greek at A-level or equivalent. Students from the CBSE board may not have their grades at the time of application, but they should have grades A1 A1 A2 A2 A2, with A1 in subjects relevant to their course. For CISCE board students, an overall grade of 90% or above is needed, with at least 95% in two subjects and 85% in the other three. State board exams from NIOS are not accepted.
