To be accepted at Arizona State University (ASU), first-year students need to have a minimum GPA of 3.00 (equivalent to a 'B' grade, where 'A' is 4.00) from their secondary school. They must have completed three years of high school coursework. If students are still in high school, ASU needs to see their grades from 9th to 11th. If they have finished high school, ASU needs to see their grades from 10th to 12th. Students must present a completed high school diploma or certificate. For international students who finished high school outside the U.S., they must meet specific math and science requirements: four years of math (including algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and one advanced math course), and three years of laboratory science (including biology, chemistry, earth science, integrated sciences, or physics). Applicants should also complete specific coursework, including four years of math, four years of English (not ESL), three years of lab sciences, two years of social sciences (including one year of American history), two years of a second language, and one year of fine arts or career education.
