Students must be high school graduates from an approved school. They need a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from their high school courses in grades 10, 11, and 12. Required subjects include U.S. History and Social Science, English, Mathematics, Laboratory Science, a Language Other than English, Visual and Performing Arts, and College Prep Electives.

The CSU Channel Islands Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) allows students who are in good financial standing to pay tuition in installments without interest. There is a $33.00 non-refundable administrative fee per semester.
The deadline for Spring (January) admission is October 1st.
