To be eligible for California State University Sacramento, students must complete a comprehensive college preparatory study of 15 units with grades of 'C-' or better. This includes: 2 years of social science (including 1 year of U.S. history), 4 years of English, 3 years of math (algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra; 4 years are recommended), 2 years of laboratory science (1 biological and 1 physical), 2 years of the same foreign language (can be waived for equivalent competence), 1 year of visual and performing arts (art, dance, drama, or music), and 1 year of electives from approved subjects. Non-California residents need a minimum 'a-g' GPA of 3.00 for admission, while those with a GPA between 2.47 and 2.99 may be evaluated based on additional factors.
