12th Grade
To be eligible for admission, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or an average of 80% in their high school studies. Non-California residents can qualify by earning a 3.00 or higher 'a-g' GPA. Those with a GPA between 2.47 and 2.99 may still be considered based on additional factors like extra coursework, family income, and extracurricular activities. Applicants must complete 15 units of college preparatory courses with grades of 'C-' or better, which include: 2 years of social science (1 year of U.S. history or U.S. history and government), 4 years of English, 3 years of math (including algebra, geometry, and intermediate algebra; 4 years are recommended), 2 years of laboratory science (1 biological and 1 physical), 2 years of the same foreign language (can be waived for those with equivalent skills), 1 year of visual and performing arts (such as art, dance, drama, or music), and 1 year of electives from approved subjects.
