Applicants need a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a CCNE-accredited program, or a degree in a related field that is regionally accredited. Those with non-nursing degrees or degrees from other accredited bodies must show they meet the competencies defined in the AACN Essentials of Baccalaureate Education. These competencies include health assessment, research, leadership, and community/public health. Competency can be shown through completed courses, exams, certifications, or professional experience. Applicants should speak with the Graduate Coordinator about their options. A GPA of 2.5 or higher is needed, but in some cases, a GPA between 2.0 and 2.49 may be accepted. A completed undergraduate statistics course is also required.
