BS in Biological Systems Engineering at Florida A&M University

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) offers a Bachelor's degree in Biological Systems Engineering that lasts for four years. The cost to study this program is USD 17,725 per year. 12th Grade

To apply, students must have completed their high school education and hold a secondary and post-secondary certificate. The minimum GPA required is 2.85 for spring admission and 3.0 for fall admission, calculated on a scale of 4.00. Students need to complete specific high school coursework, which includes: four units of English (with at least three courses that involve a lot of writing), four units of Mathematics (including Algebra 1 or higher), three units of Natural Science (with at least two involving lab work), three units of Social Science, two units of the same Foreign Language, and two elective units from English, Mathematics, Natural Science, Foreign Language, Humanities, or Social Science.

Application Process for Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University

Step One: Prepare Documents for Application

• Letters of Recommendation (LOR): You need two letters of recommendation from a teacher and/or counselor. These are part of your application.
• Essays: Write a 500-word essay as part of your application. For the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (HIIM), include a typed autobiographical essay of at least 300-500 words. Answer the following questions: Why do you want to enter the HIIM profession? What life or work experiences lead you to pursue a degree in HIIM? What are your career goals, and how will a bachelor’s degree in HIIM help you achieve those goals?
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): Submit a professional resume for the Bachelor of Architecture (BArch).

Step Two: Additional Documents Required

• Undergraduate Application: Submit an official or certified copy of all secondary and post-secondary records and/or examination results. If your credentials are from a non-U.S. institution, they must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation agency.
• Submit all AICE, AP, IB, or CLEP results if you have earned college credit through these programs.
• If English is not your native language, submit official TOEFL and/or IELTS test scores.
• Submit your official GED transcript, if applicable.
• Provide official ACT [code: 0726] and/or Redesigned SAT [code: 5215] results if you are entering as a freshman or sophomore transfer student.
• Include a copy of your passport.
• Complete the International Student Financial Statement.
• For the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), submit a professional statement and a satisfactory portfolio review score.

Step Four: Application Fees

The application fee is USD 35 (approximately INR 2.95 Thousand). You can pay by credit card. There is also a formal payment plan available through iRattler. This plan requires a $15.00 enrollment fee, and the first payment is due when you enroll in the plan.
