12th Grade
Applicants must have completed class 12th and should have finished at least 16 units of college-preparatory coursework. This includes: 4 units of English, 3 units of mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II), 2 units of the same foreign language, 2 units of laboratory science, 2 units of social sciences, and 3 additional units from any of the above subjects. Students will be favored for taking more challenging courses, such as mathematics beyond Algebra II, more laboratory science beyond chemistry, a third or fourth year of a foreign language, Advanced Placement courses, or honors courses. The best candidates usually have a GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale and a strong record of extracurricular activities.
