The M.A.T. in Secondary Education is aimed at students who want to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching and get their initial teaching license for high school (grades 9-12).
Students in the Secondary Education program will join a group (cohort) that focuses on one of four subjects:
Language Arts
History
Mathematics
Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Earth Science)
Students will also have the chance to work with peers from other subjects, as well as have focused work with others in their chosen subject area.
Throughout the program, students will learn important teaching skills. This includes working together to plan lessons, training as classroom teachers, and developing skills for assessing student learning.

Graduation
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. They need to provide official transcripts showing an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale.
