Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) offers a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematics through its College of Arts and Sciences. Graduation

Applicants need a four-year B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college. They must have an overall grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. For the M.S. in Mathematics (Secondary Education Concentration), applicants should have completed 18 or more credit hours in college-level Mathematics courses, including Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics. For the M.S. in Mathematics (Applied Mathematics Concentration), applicants must have completed at least six courses (18 credit hours) above Multivariable Calculus, including two of the following: Ordinary Differential Equations, Introduction to Numerical Analysis, Probability and Statistics, and Advanced Calculus. Applicants should also know at least one math or statistics computer program like R, Maple, Minitab, Matlab, Mathematica, SPSS, or SAS.
