BS Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology

The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSMT) offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences that lasts for four years. 12th Grade

Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 from both high school and college. They need to complete these courses with at least a "C" average (2.0 on a 4.0 scale): 4 years of English (or ACT English score of 18, or AP English score of 3); 3 years of Advanced Mathematics (or ACT Math score of 20, or AP Calculus score of 3); 3 years of Laboratory Science (or ACT Science score of 17, or AP Science score of 3); 3 years of Social Science (or ACT Social Studies/Reading score of 17, or AP Social Studies score of 3); 1 year of Fine Arts (or AP Fine Arts score of 3). Students must also prove they are ready for College Algebra by having an ACT or SAT math score of at least 20/520, completing a college math course, or getting a qualifying score on the Accuplacer exam.
