The program includes two introductory courses that students usually take in their first year. These courses are: one methods-oriented course from physical anthropology, archaeology, or linguistics; one cultural-area course; two dimensions of culture courses; a world issues course; an advanced writing course focused on ethnographic methods; and a senior project or seminar.
Students will gain a deep understanding of at least one major world area and its cultures. They will also learn how to critically analyze global issues and explore possible solutions.
This flexible program allows students to follow their other interests. They can choose a minor in a different subject, study abroad, or even pursue a second major.
