The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Studio Art is designed with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional structures.

Students can focus on various areas, including drawing, ceramics, painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, photography, design, installation, performance, or mixed media.

To earn the MFA in Art, students must complete a total of 60 semester hours of coursework. This includes 33 hours in studio courses, with 24 hours dedicated to the student's main area of focus, and 9 hours in a minor studio area.

Students are also required to take 12 hours of art history courses and a 3-hour seminar called ART 6383, The Art Profession.

In the final semester, students will take Art 7300, Graduate Exhibition, and Art 7301, Graduate Paper on Art. They must also complete Art 7303, Graduate Thesis. Additionally, graduate students need to finish six hours of graduate-level university electives.
