Master of Electrical & Computer Engineering at University of Detroit Mercy

The University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) offers a Master of Electrical and Computer Engineering program that lasts for 18 months. The total tuition fee for this program is USD 31,783. To be admitted to this program, students need to show their English language skills. UDM accepts several tests for this, including IELTS, TOEFL, and Duolingo. Additionally, students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 to qualify for admission.

The Master of Electrical & Computer Engineering (MECE) can be earned through two options: a thesis plan or a non-thesis plan.

The thesis plan requires 24 credit hours of coursework and an additional six credit hours for ELEE 5990. In contrast, the non-thesis plan consists of 30 credit hours of coursework.

Students in the MECE program can choose to specialize in one of three areas:

• Signal and Systems
• Robotics and Mechatronic Systems
• Computer Engineering

Graduates from this program will be equipped to use their knowledge of advanced math, science, and engineering principles in the field of electrical engineering.

Application Process for University of Detroit Mercy

Step One: Additional Documents Required

• International transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
• Submit a CV or resume.
• Provide proof of English language proficiency.
• GRE scores are optional.

If students are accepted to the University of Detroit Mercy, they must submit the following documents before they can receive an I-20 form to apply for a student visa:

• An official bank statement showing enough money to cover the first year of study, including tuition and living expenses. If the bank statement is from a sponsor, a Statement of Financial Support Form must be filled out by the sponsor(s).
• A copy of the information pages of your passport. If you are currently in the U.S. on an F-1, J1 visa, or any other visa, include a copy of that visa.
